_Es könnte “un jardín” sein,
for 10 players, with or without spoken-word performer,
and drifting audience
(2023)

Es könnte “un jardín” sein is a work where the audiece is invited to build their listening experience by drifting between in two spaces, and/or specifically amongs an eleven-piece ensemble spread out in one of the rooms.

Under the frame of a concert/installation, Es könnte “un jardín” sein is a work about a garden, a fragile one, which possibly is experiencing the arrival of autumn.

Regarding the two spaces, the first and larger one is meant to be the room in which the players are located. They are spread out and divide the room in two quintets. The second room and smaller is meant to be a “fake representation” of the situation happening in the main room: there is a projection of an overhead image of the main room, with two or more monitors/speakers which will be amplifying the sounds in the main room.

This work contains mostly long sounds shared by the ensemble through intertwining atmospheres: tutti, two quintets, and five duos.
There are two possible ways to perform this work: either with a ten piece ensemble, or with an eleven piece ensemble, where the eleventh player will be a spoken-word performer.

Originally, the piece has a minimum length of 40 minutes, but it is possible to expand its duration up to 24 hours.
In the case that it’ll be performed within a longer timeline, all the stopwatch signs must be multiplied.
